Cheecha Puffs- Delightful Gluten Free & Low Fat Chips

I have to promote this wonderful snack. For all you chip fans out there these crispy guys fill the salty crunchy craving like no other low fat chip I have tried. Cheecha Puffs have two product lines. One is gluten free and touted by the celiac community. The gluten free flavours include lime, salt and pepper, salt and vinegar, Mediterranean ginger and plain. The low fat version is wheat and potato air puffed product. Flavours include smokey BBQ, dill pickle, blue cheese, triple cheese, ketchup, hickory bacon and plain. I am a fan of both the gluten free and the regular versions. These products were an asset to me. I lost 43 pounds and products like Cheecha Snacks were a huge help to me. My personal favourite flavours are the triple cheese and Smokey BBQ. The cheese is the perfect marriage between a nacho and a chip with not too much cheese powder or salt but LOTS of satisfying crunch.
What I also really like about this company is that the chips taste like chips not like an earthy health food product. It is also a Canadian family run company with integrity in their operations especially with their environmental business practices judging from their website. The only problem is, they aren’t carried in enough stores!!! Has anyone else tried them?

I tried them for the first time last week and am sorry to say I was somewhat disappointed. In my opinion othey taste sort of like flavoured crispy air! Perhaps I just have to give them another chance. I had the lime ones and had a hard time finishing the bag. I'm used to making all sorts of lovely GF snacks from scratch so did not enjoy the processed flavour. However, I am pleased that there is a snack such as this that so many seem to enjoy! :-D

Good for you for your weight loss - that is inspirational!

Yea, they are not for everyone. They don't really have an "earthy" kettle chip taste for sure. The lime is also one of the acquired flavors I find. I like the salt and pepper out of all the gluten free flavors. Which snacks do you prefer?

I haven't yet tried the salt and pepper flavour and definitely would be willing to give them a chance! Anything GF is exciting. There is only one GF snack that I have fallen in love with so far; make that two. One is falafel chips (will find the brand - they are thick and packed with intense flavour) and the other is GF pepperoni sticks when I crave something salty yet substantial. These are the things I am taking with me to Italy/Croatia in three weeks' time as airline GF food is nearly inedible.

I like to make crackers, corn tortilla chips (I made 3 flavours over the weekend), flatbreads and so on.

I've always cooked/baked from scratch so it is not just a GF thing - it's how it has always been for me! I love it too much to give it up...

Gonna look for Falafel chips. Wondering if I can get them in Canada. Are you in the US?

I live in Alberta, actually! I get them in Edmonton. Hopefully you can get them in Toronto, too. Can't see why not! They are by Flamous Organics and are certified organic, no trans fat , low in sodium and of course GF. They are substantial and come in two flavours. Sooooo yummy with hummus. They are expensive but most GF products are. However, because they are substantial and filling, they could last longer than other things.

I'll give other flavours of the cheecha puffs another try! :-)
