Palm Springs - 5 Dinners/4 Lunches...Happy Hours

My partner and I will be in Palm Springs from April 17th until the 22nd and we need some good options for lunches and dinners. Lunches will be more of the take out variety, as we plan on just bringing the food back to eat by the pool at our hotel.

We enjoy a good atmosphere, and all cuisines - we are a little "over" Italian and steakhouses.

Also, we are interested in attending a few good happy hour options as well.

Thank you!

Any updates on this from folks? I take it there are no 'great' HH's in Palm Springs (I'm talking $2 Coronas, or $1 tacos.. that sort of thing!) I'm not talking high end here.. doesn't need to be awesome food, just decent atmosphere and cold CHEAP beers.

There used to be tons of super-cheap happy hours at hotels and along Palm Canyon in Rancho Mirage, etc., not sure which ones are still going on, maybe check the print edition of the Desert Sun.
We usually stick with Matchbox Pizza (happy hour prices only until 5:30 this time of year) and The Falls next door (happy hour all day every day, half price bar menu).

LuLu California Bistro, like its sister Acqua Pazza in Rancho Mirage, have an all day happy hour. If you sit in the bar area they have a limited bar menu with about half off their normal prices. And $5.00 cocktails. The Falls was mentioned above. Not sure what else is out there for HH.

Happy Hour- Tropicale, Birba, Trio- all are good for dinner too. Jakes is great for dinner, great courtyard patio- for something more $$, try Copley's, also great outdoor space, as is Spencers, best patio dining in town. Johannes is great choice too.
Cheeky's is great for lunch, Tylers too. John's is a great burger place for take out, excellent salads, best onion rings in town! Thai Smile is good for take out or lunch. Have a great time in the desert!

          For lunch, I'd recommend Cheeky's, Jake's, and King's Highway.

A few places downtown PS have good happy hours with food & drink specials...
Matchbox Pizza, the Grind (a new burger place), and the Falls.

If you find yourself shopping on El Paseo (Palm Desert) in the late afternoon, Sullivan's Steakhouse has a nice happy hour.
