Funeral tomorrow in Greensboro: asked to bring food. What & where!
Please help. I live in hickory - not far, and I can bring a chiller and or a slowcooker to keep something warm. But either way I don't know what to buy or where best to buy it.
I will be traveling through W-S, so that's an option as well.
In essence any place along 40 between hickory and Greensboro would work.
Have an 80 dollar budget to buy food for the family as there will be a gathering post 4pm funeral
Thanks for ideas on what to buy and where to buy it!

I would say go by Lex 1 and get BBQ but they are closed on Sunday.
There's a Fresh Market on Battleground. Their prepared items are pretty good.

re: Sue in Mt P
I prefer the special mom and pops, but just like here in Hickory, the good ones will be closed on Sunday's. Bummers about Lex's but I'm not surprised.
It's a local family. I don't need to bring anything fancy. Good ole local southern comfort food will work. I see what Fresh Market has.
Thanks

re: Sue in Mt P
My neighbor is saying, "just go to Cracker Barrel" and get ham, green beans and mac/cheese and call it a day.
I feel so defeated, but.... I might just do it because I'm buying for several friends and family that can't attend. I now have a budget if $125 to buy food.
Yikes... sigh....
