What metro area liquor store has the best liquor section?

I am interested in finding the store with the most comprehensive liquor section, the one where you can find yellow Chartreuse, not just green, and the lots of amari and European herbal liquors and distillations from unique sources. Surdyk's is not it, nor is South Lyndale and France 44. Where is this mythical place? Does it exist here?

I love MGM on HWY 7 near the lakes. That is where I get my Kegs and they have a huge selection of liquor, but i couldn't tell you for sure if they will have your European herbal liquors etc. Worth a call though!!

If Surdyks and France 44 are not it, such a place does not exist because they have the best selection in town. I am looking for the Nux Alpina Walnut Liqueur (they use it at Bradstreet as part of a riff on the Mnahattan) if anyone has seen it.

Blue Max in Burnsville. Worth the drive...huge selection and knowledgeable staff.

I have heard good things about Dennis Brothers in Cottage Grove, but have not been there myself.

I think this may be a mythical place in the Twin Cities. I have found a number of places with a good selection (Surdyk's, 1st Grand Avenue), but no place that has it all. The only place I have found Yellow Chartreuse is the Lowry Hill Liquor store on Hennepin near Franklin Ave (which otherwise does not have a particularly good selection). I think they still had it last time I was there (about a month ago), but you might want to call and check.

I never expected it either. :-) I had been looking for Yellow Chartreuse for a couple of months in all the places I thought might have it, stopped at Lowry Hill for something else and bought a somewhat dusty bottle. A few months later, I was talking to the head bartender at La Belle Vie about finding Yellow Chartreuse in Minneapolis since they had it in a drink and apparently that was the one place he found it as well.
