Sunday Brunch/Lunch between Cambria & Montecito? And eek, it's Easter Sunday.

We're making a coastal trip over Easter weekend, and we have most of our meals planned out, but I'm not sure where to start with Sunday brunch between Cambria & Montecito? We're not early risers so we're looking to eat around 11am -noon, and would be willing to drive a bit (on the way) to get to someplace really good.

Just for reference, we're having dinner at the Black Cat Bistro on Saturday night, and we'll be eating at The Stonehouse Restaurant on Sunday night at San Ysidro Ranch. The brunch/lunch place doesn't need to be upscale, just have really good food.

Thanks!

Sarah

  1. Big Sky is a very popular place and you'll have a wait, but it's worth it. Many varied selections.

    1. McFee's Grill in Templeton (20 miles east of Cambria across the scenic Coast Range) is open for Easter Sunday Brunch, but this morning told me they're filling fast. So check out the menu and call if it looks good. Their brunch menu is very good, comes with Mimosas ,and is highly recommended, though it's not posted, just their regular menu. They used to do brunch every Sunday, but nowdays just Christmas and Easter. Close to the wine tasting rooms of Templeton-Paso Robles area.

      1. On your way, about 40 miles south of Cambria on Hwy 101 is the Lido Restaurant in Shell Beach. It is located in the Dolphin Bay Resort with spectacular views. They are offering an Easter prix fixe or al a carte brunch and they take reservations. I've never been for brunch, but have enjoyed wonderful dinners and happy hours there.

An old pal in Arroyo Grande reported that Lido has a new chef and he really enjoyed his meal there last Saturday. I vaguely recall hearing that Chef Evan Treadwell had moved on, but cannot recall to where.

        2. Stella Mare's in SB.Montecito is a lovely spot and has a great weekend lunch/brunch menu. My very hard to please parents always ask to go there when visiting.

and how could I forget Artisan in Paso Robles!?! I have not been for brunch but the menu always looks good. I think Ballard Inn or Root 246 in the Santa Ynez valley would be 2 other good coices.

We had a very disappointing pre-fixe dinner for NewYears at Root 246 - so if this is also a pre-fixe holiday menu for Easter, I would suggesting trying this restaurant on another less hectic day.
