Which are the best stores in JH for Indian goods? Looking for herbs and spices, as well as produce - possibly in bulk - and kitchen equipment.

Patel bros is huge and carries everything you mentioned in your post. Subzi Mandi is good too but the selection is not as extensive. I'd stick with Patel. Have fun!

I second patel bros. I've looked at the others but their selections are not as extensive in the herb and spice dept. patel has best curry leaves and dry spices. produce is sometimes better, cheaper at subzi mandi, so you may want to go to both if you are buying in bulk. Patel bros has kitchen equipment but their selection isn't that great (strangely, i've found the selection of kitchen equipment better at the small patel bros in flushing) however, across the street is a sort of indian dept store type store (forget the name) that carries quite a bit of cooking equipment.

Patel Brothers also carries JEERA KHAKRA (and other KHAKRA flavors) - other than shmura-matzohs, the best crackers in the world, IMO.

try the place next to subzi mandi, across the street from that indian/chinese place. names escape me. but it's got good prices and probably more stuff than patel.
