Daddy's got the night off! Need a suggestion for last minute walk-in or bar dinning.

No specific 'hood, no budget, no type (prefer non-Italian, no sushi).

I was thinking along the lines of:
Hearth
Casa Mono

I was not thinking:
Gramercy Tavern
Gotham Bar & Grill

Any suggestions? What's new?

        OP: if you can't get into Joseph Leonard, try Jeffrey's Grocery across the way, especially for their raw bar and sandwiches.

          Bar Boulud especially if you have a charcuterie craving would make a nice night out.

          BTW, Spotted Pig and the Breslin also have bars upstairs.

          Love Blue Ribbon Brasserie but the bar is tiny, and the wait for any seat at all seems long.
