Help - office is moving to Queensboro Plaza - any lunch, coffee options?
Hi Chowhounds - my office is moving into a new building near Queensboro Plaza, and the pickings for lunch and coffee seem pretty dire. I know that there are a lot of great places in LIC, but they are all in the Vernon-Jackson area, which is still ~15-20 minutes walk from the office. Does anybody have any recommendations of places to go within 5 minutes of Queensboro Plaza? Thanks in advance!

Sage General Store is only about a 3-4 block walk .
Great lunch spot.

LIC Market is wonderful, seasonal and local ingredients, well prepared and the interiors are charming. Punjabi Five Star Diner is solid and has lunch buffet.

Big 2nd for 5 star. Dont plan on eating dinner that night. Sage is good too, but expensive for what it is.

Yes, isn't it ridiculous how few options there are around there?? considering how big citibank is. They have a terrible cafeteria there. I worked for about 2 weeks next to the courts and here's what I did there: http://www.yelp.com/list/lic-4-u-and-...
you know, it probably doesnt help you that much actually. my 2 fav spots are closed: Oh so good and Queens fried chicken ( i think is closed)
