Restaurant with Entertainment for Family Fun and Celebration
I've surfed the web and foodie sites and now have come to Chowhound looking for some suggestions.
My family is planning to celebrate a birthday and we are looking for a "family friendly" place with some sort of 'entertainment'. We will travel from Ventura to Silverlake and Culver City to Valencia, you get the idea? In other words, traveling is not the problem although somewhere near the SF Valley would be convenient, but not necessary.
Anyway, we will have a child with us, so that filters out some types of places.
We are looking for something new, somewhere we haven't been before, and within the $$ price range.
And the key word here is 'Entertainment'.
Here are some of the places we've already been to:
Miceli's - Studio city
The Great Greek -Studio city
Vitello's - Studio City
The Greek at the Harbor - Ventura
A place with a piano player and singing would be ideal, but most any kind of music would be okay.
Would love to hear from you.

The Thursday Night dinner kicks off at 6:30pm with appetizers and wine tasting followed by additional appetizers, Greek salad, freshly baked bread, two entrees, several side dishes, baklava and coffee. Thanks Wienermobile and Yogachik
Papa Cristo's & Taverna Tony sound like fun, but I think we're interested in trying out some other type of entertainment. No belly dancing this time.
Oh and also, we are going out on a Saturday night.
Still looking for more ideas if you have them.

Papa Cristos is not worth any money you may spend. The food simply in not good, IMHO. If you want good greek, go to Sofis on 3rd street in WeHo. They often have music on Fri and sat night.
What about Dar Maghreb on Sunset. They have a great belly dancer show.
Taking the food level DOWN a notch, you could go to Tokyo Delves and play, wheel of fish.

How about Thai food...with the Thai Elvis? I always get the name of this place wrong....help Hounds....but I think it's something like Palms Thai Restaurant. You have to call and make sure he's performing that night....sometimes he's on the road. But it's decent Thai food....and a lot of fun.

Just a reminder, Folks. Chowhound's mission is to share tips on where to find great food and drink. Posts that do not focus on finding food and drink will be removed.

CASA sanchez on centinela has live mariachi music that is played while you have dinner there.
they have a liquor license that included hard liquor (don't know the technical name for this license), so the adult that isn't driving can indulge in several vairieties of tequila while everyone else focuses on the food and music.
