Ugh, forced to eat at Hard Rock Cafe Universal..anything decent?

A group of my friends insists on going to the Hard Rock Cafe this weekend. Bummer.

Anything half-decent? Onion rings, egg rolls, etc.?

Is the bar any good?

They used to have good food at Hard Rock Cafe's (Newport Beach). I don't know what happened--expansion, someone mentioned sysco, whatever--they don't even have the same menu items

Is it that bad? It can't be can it? You can always go to Sparky's after :)

I always order a BLT when I don't think the restuarant is very good. It's pretty hard to screw up. HRC doesn't have it listed on their menu, but you can doctor their chicken club. Good luck.

            Been there, done that.

Onion rings and egg rolls go straight from the Sysco truck to the deep fryer. Sauces are terrible. Most entrees come out of vac-pacs.

Your best bet is to stick with plain grilled meat. Burgers, steaks, chicken. Fish is a reach. Fries don't suck.

            Good luck.

Sneak out and go to that brewpub while they aren't looking. Karl Strauss? Food isn't great there but the beer's pretty good. Calamari was edible when we went.

You have my condolences. The only one I ate at was in Lahaina, Maui, and it just short of sucked. Plus it was really pricey, being Lahaina.
