Sunset Park Chinese/Asian
There are literally dozens of Asian food places along 8th Ave (and a few on 7th) in Sunset Park. But these boards and the food blogosphere really only talk about a relative handful -- Yun Nan Flavour Snack, Pacificana, Lucky Eight, Prosperity Dumpling, the three Vietnamese sandwich shops, and the three Viet restaurants. Anyone been to any of the newer full-service Chinese restaurants along 8th?

Sometime around May 2011 Prosperity Dumpling on 43rd and 5th Ave. became Great Taste Dumpling. The interior remains exactly the same (clean, spacious, and civilized) and the dumplings continue to be quite good. They make up fresh batches as people come in so you're never stuck with the dreaded lukewarm leftovers served at plenty of other shops.
Oh yeah - still 5 for $1. One of New York's great deals.

Wet Towel, you might be interested in our report on a recent Sunset Park food crawl (http://www.cityspoonful.com/sunset-park-chinatown-crawl/) -- we did hit Lucky Eight, but also Golden Forest Chinese Restaurant and the stinky tofu street vendor, as well as a few Chinese supermarkets along a short stretch of 8th Ave.
Brooklyn Exposed also did a similar exploration of Sunset Park C-town a week or so back, and that might be worth checking out(http://www.brooklynexposed.com/index....). They report on a dumpling place, Kai Feng Fu Dumpling House on 8th Ave., which I'm curious about, as well as a Vietnamese pho joint, Pho Cho Lon, that I'm also not familiar with from these boards.
