Is fresh horseradish available in Western Massachusetts yet? If so, where can I find it?

How far west? This time of year, Big Y would carry it in their Springfield area locations for Passover, probably Stop and Shop as well.

Sorry, I meant locally grown horseradish. I know horseradish grows well in the Pioneer Valley but am not sure when it's harvested.

I don't know about commercial growers, but I would think in the fall. I grow my own and dig them up fall and spring. I just dug some last weekend.

last year there was, I believe, freshly dug horseradish at the co-op in Northampton for Passover. Someone also told me Enterprise farm has it at their winter market. WHole Foods has it from local sources some years for passover too.

Thanks! The horseradish at my Whole Foods is from Missouri.

the hadley one? maybe this year, it does vary. the co-op is probably the best bet. I grow my own now, so haven't checked this year.
