New Greek Restaurant in Wilmington- Terra Cafe
I saw that they opened up a while ago and was surprised when I realized that this was a nice little cafe. It's in an odd location- 8th & King next to a corner store and a bus stop- across from the DoubleTree hotel. Nice decor, friendly owners. Looks like most items are made in house. The menu is great, but the prices seem a little high for the area. On the other hand, it's close and I tend to crave Greek food on a regular basis. After two tries, I figure I'd spread the word.
First visit I ordered the veggie sampler (7.50) for take out. It came with 3 dolmades, sliced cucumbers, warm pita, hummus, and tzatziki. Everything was delicious and it made for a nice lunch.
Today I tried the hummus pita wrap (8.95) for lunch. All of their sandwiches come with a side and I was told that they will allow you to order the sandwich a la carte at a reduced cost. I could choose from the pasta salad, fries, or steamed green beans. I chose the green beans, which was a fantastic decision. They came warm, with pieces of celery, tomato, and had a wonderful flavor. The pita was just what I was looking for- grilled pita with a healthy amount of hummus, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onions and a sprinkling of feta. 8.95 was a little more than I would like to pay for it, but at least the vegetables were fresh and my meal was tasty. They have a nice seating area, too.
Overall, this won't be my go-to place but I will definitely go back. Thought I'd put it out there for the DE lunch crowd that's looking for something new to try.
I had to pull this thread back up to surface after an amazing lunch at Terra today. I was craving a turkey burger and know that they use fresh meat instead of frozen, so I decided to try it out. I substituted the stewed green beans for fries. While waiting for my food, I was a little bothered at myself for spending $10 on lunch but after the first bite my thoughts completely disappeared. The freshness is worth a few extra dollars. This was, without a doubt, the best turkey burger that I have ever had. It was juicy and had the most unbelievable flavor. I don't know what kind of herbs they mix in but it works. it had a piece of provolone cheese, fresh lettuce and tomato, and a spicy aoili on top. Fresh whole wheat bun.... seriously amazing. The green beans were an extra dollar, but are just such a delicious side dish option.
You gotta try it!!

The original place that George owned was George's Grille in Malvern. It was fantastic and it looks like he have moved to Delaware. If it's anything like the original, you guys are extremely lucky. Food is alway great, made fresh daily and perfect. I don't know how long he was in Malvern but never had a complaint about the food. The prices got a little to high so we stopped going. We went everyday but once the prices started to rise, we only went once in a while. Tell George and Helena I said hi!... Tom
