Good Shawarma and Shish Taouk
Hi all -
Any recommendation for a good Shawarma? I've been to many "Middle Eastern" restaurants in the Bay Area to be served fake ones. Best one I've had so far was at Taboun. (average quality vs east coast)
Thanks

I've tried Oasis and it was terrible :). Truly Mediterranean was ok and found the meat dry and flavorless. As of Sophia, their Shawarma was not a real Shawarma and way too salty but it was at their early stage (when they opened)

That's surprising. I've never had dry, flavorless meat @ TM, but I haven't eaten there in over a year.
And just to make sure . . . the Oasis you tried was the supermarket / deli on Telegraph, not the Oasis Grill near UC Berkeley?
A friend of mine raves about Old Jerusalem on Mission St. I haven't been, but they do have Shish Taouk on the menu.
