Glendale Armenian bakery?
I'm taking my daughter to lunch in Glendale tomorrow. There's Porto's, but it is so crowded at lunchtime! I remember reading a while back about a Middle Eastern bakery somewhere in Glendale that specialized in different flatbreads. I don't rmember if you can eat in or it's just take out. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Not sure about the flatbreads, but I always like Paradise Bakery on Glenoaks. They also have a section where you can get prepared foods. The soups that I have had have always been good and they have a very good version of Khatchapouri (although they call it something else that I can never remember).

Paradise is perfectly named. Had a client for a while, Armenian guy, who would have me meet him there. He'd buy us both some coffee and a pastry, and then he'd send me home with a box of some incredible walnut things. The whole complex has three parts, a bakery, cafe and deli, the latter of which has fresh meats as well as cured meats and cheeses.

I agree. Their cakes are beautiful and their deli and cafe offer great things. ;-)

Maybe that's it, because I remember "lahmajoun" being mentioned. It's worth a try. I also like the idea of the spicy cheese boreks! Thanks.

Taron Bakery in Glendale serves the best Lahmajun and Beoregs (both cheese and spinach kind) I've ever had, but that is all that they sell. There's a new bakery in northeast Glendale called Leon Bakery which is not bad. The other recommendations in this thread (Paradise, etc) are also very good. I've linked a thread below to a review I wrote of Taron a while back and my assessment still stands.
