Last week commuting to Houston...

I've been working 4 days a week in H-town since last September. So, this is my last week here, so I need to decide where to have a final dinner out. Should I go somewhere I've been & loved? Or, should I choose somewhere I haven't been that is beyond fabulous?

I'm leaning toward somewhere I haven't been... and this is where y'all come in.

I have eaten at, and loved in varying degrees:
Stella Sola

Mmmm not so much love for:
granted, I only tried each one once.

Now, I'd love to go to Bootsie's in Tomball, but I think that's out of the question since I don't have a car :-(

So.... if you were in my shoes, where would you dine?

  1. My vote is to go with one you know & love. Only you know which of the above you'd kick yourself for not enjoying again if you had a less than stellar experience at a "new" place.

    1. I'm not sure where you're from (which may play into decisions and what you are used to) but I would go with Brennan's or Hugo's mostly because these two are not easily found in other cities.

      1. A few suggestions of places you haven't been:

        Kata Robata (sushi, japanese fusion)
        DaMarco (Italian)
        Mark's (American)

bwah ha ha! Well it looks like I'm going to get to have several "last" suppers. Tonight I went to Shade, largely because I've been eating their food at the downtown farmer's market every wednesday and they turn out some fine grub. Tonight the appetizers tasted wonderful (truffled mac & cheese + shrimp & grits) but were lacking a bit in execution, but the entrees shined (scallops over risotto + mahi mahi with a white bean ragout. Coconut cream pie with a hazelnut shortbread crust for dessert. yesssss.
