Grind your own peanut butter?

Hi, I'm wondering if there are any markets/co-ops/grocery stores in the Twin Cities that have "grind your own" peanut butter machines--specifically honey roasted peanut butter?

Linden Hills Coop has this, though I am pretty sure they offer only one type of peanut for grinding.

They have peanut and cashew - wait, is it almond, maybe? pulverizers.

Their website didn't offer up any locations where they sell their products (specifically the peanut butter). Can you offer up where you can find it?

Kowalski's & Mississippi Market for sure. Look in the refrigerated section.

Also - Lund's and the Wedge usually carry it. I believe that Whole Foods also carries it.

its made in Coon Rapids and is pretty widely available around here, as others have pointed out.

also Grass Roots Gourmet @ midtown global market

I love Parker's Farm PB. That said, I do like shelf stable peanut butter, the kind that isn't a liquid at room temperature. And, the problem with grind-your-own peanut butter is that it's a solid mass after it cools to room temperature.

The solution is a 50-50 mixture of grind-your-own and Parker's Farm. It's just the right consistency at room temperature.

I'm not a huge fan of Hell's Kitchen, but they do have amazing house made peanut butter. Not necessarily honey roasted but seriously delicious. If your Dad hasn't tried it yet he should.

I hate Hell's Kitchen's peanut butter. It's peanut butter watered down with too much sugar.

Whole Foods in St. Paul also has a grind your own peanut butter machine, but again, I don't know if it's honey roasted. Might be worth a call. Good luck and please let us know what you find out!

Great, thanks! I just called and they do--but not honey roasted. But good to know nonetheless. I've been raving for years about the honey roasted peanut butter out of a machine that we have at Whole Foods in the Boston area, where I live. I wanted to share the deliciousness with my dad, a peanut butter addict in St. Paul, without having to lug a tub of peanut butter on the airplane. But looks like for now that might be my only option. Thanks for the info!

Seward Coop has a grind-your-own machine, but I believe that it is stocked with plain roasted peanuts.

As an aside, I'd recommend caution with a grind-your-own machine.

I've used Seward's grind-your-own dispenser 3 times. The first time, when the machine was brand-new, the peanut butter was great. A month later, it tasted slightly rancid. I tried again 8 months later - same problem. I wonder if the machine is hard to clean?

I've been meaning to complain to Seward, but haven't gotten around to it. In the meantime, I buy my peanut butter from the Wedge - they have the best (freshest tasting) selection - and you can choose from roasted, unroasted, salted, unsalted... No honey-roasted, though.
