interesting food along my route?

I'm driving from the Tampa airport south to Englewood, on 275 to 75 to River rd. Anything close to the interstate or worth a slight detour? Will arrive shortly before lunch, and certainly don't want airport food.

What time of day will you be driving through Tampa?

Plane lands around 10 am, have to pick up the rental car, so it will be 11ish as I'm en route to Englewood. I don't mind a couple miles detour, but I don't want to trek halfway across town in the wrong direction. Bonus points for Cuban or killer pizza, or only-in-FL.

Well, for Cuban, I would suggest Arco Iris which is about two-three miles from the airport. This is my go to place for Cuban food in Tampa. Very easy to get back on 275 south to 75.

LOL, I know. I'm just always hoping, when I travel, that some oddball will have decided to make wood-oven pizzas in far flung corners of the US. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she? I had perfectly decent pizza at the New Faull Inn in Englewood last year.

OOH you're in luck, if it's on Tuesday - Friday, Wood Fired Pizza is spectacular. My latest favorite pie is the Dante's Inferno :)

That's true Todd, but she is traveling in the opposite direction.
