I am planning a bachelorette party for a group of 12 girls from the DC area. We are staying in Pompano Beach and are going to take a limo to dinner Saturday night. I really want a fun place, nothing to upscale or club like. I have looked into: Yolo, Tequila Ranch, Lulu's Bait Shack, and Taverna Opa. Nothing has seemed just right though. Tequila Ranch is in the lead, but they don't take reservations and that worries me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Anywhere between Pompano and Ft. L would be fine.

  1. Are you just going out for dinner, or are you planning on going out afterwards? What sort of scene are you looking for, because Yolo and Lulu's are night and day apart? What age group?

I would look at Rocco's Tacos on Las Olas.

We are planning on going out afterwards on Las Olas. We are 27-31 year olds. If it were me I would like the Yolo atmosphere, but she mentioned wanting something fun, so I was trying to find alternatives. I will definitely check out Rocco's Tacos. Thanks so much for the help!!

    2. One that comes to mind for me is the Pirate Republic Seafood Grill & Bar. I think this might be pretty close to what you’re looking for.

They have pretty darned good food (not uppity upscale dining though but also not Applebee's-like) in a fun atmosphere. Seating is on the New River overlooking the water. They also have two bars- I’m partial to the downstairs bar with its open air feel also overlooking the New River. Additionally, they have a swimming pool which is free of use with seating around it. We’ve spent many afternoons swimming, drinking, and sucking down raw oysters there.

I really enjoy this place and could easily picture a fun bachelorette party there with good food.

Oh wow, thanks for the suggestion! I have never heard of the place but the atmosphere looks great.

Yes, it can be a fun place. It is not difficult to get to Las Olas from there either (a short drive or use the water taxi).

Another that comes to mind is Coconuts. It is on the intracoastal near to the beach. Again, easy to get to the bars on Las Olas from here. Or, you could simply stay on the beach and get your drink on at the Elbo Room, Dirty Blonde’s, Treasure Trove, etc.
