What to wear at these restos?

We are heading into SF this week and will be going to:

Kiss Seafood
Gary Danko
Millenium
Anchor and Hope
Samovar
Yank Sing for Dim Sum

What would be the appropriate dress for these places? I assume Kiss and Yank are casual. Casual for me still means dressing nicely....just not a like a "night on the town" kinda thing

But what about the others? Dressy? Funky dressy? Or nicely casual?

If you feel like dressing up, you won't feel out of place at Gary Danko or Millennium, but anywhere you go in the area a lot of customers will be wearing whatever.

Since this is San Francisco, Funky-Dressy is always right. For guys, a sportscoat always works. I would say slacks also for Gary Danko but there is no need for suiting it up unless you roll that way. For women, casual dressy, and layers if you are from out of town. Besides these will be nights on the town so make it special.

A sport coat always works, so long as you don't mind occasionally being the only guy in the room wearing one.

I do see more people dressed up than I used to. Maybe thanks to Mad Men suits and dresses are trendy among the late-20s / early 30s demographic.

Yes, I saw a young woman in the FiDi last week wearing a lovely retro-cut skirt that nicely set off the matching tats on the backs of her calves. ;-)

Hilarious! Well I have no tats.....but do usually dress up. So good to know I won't feel out of place doing so. A funky dress and killer heels it shall be. And my hubby is fine with the sports coat thing. Thanks everyone!
