Is Darna still open? I can't find their website.

Anyone been there recently and confirm that it's still open?

I was there perhaps six weeks ago, and they were definitely open, although business seemed to be slow.

I was there on March 6th. They were open.

      http://darnany.com/ is their site.

My friend who asked went by today. She confirms that they are indeed open and will be open during Pesach. Now we are figuring out if we will do take-out dinners for the second days or lunches.

I've been there for dinner during Pesach, Shabbat and weekdays, not the sedarim. It was fabulous. No kitniyot. Really wonderful food.

Yeah, we've been the last several years with these friends. Except now we both have young babies, so it changes the equation a bit. The meals have always been fantastic.

According to Koshertopia, they closed. I don't have any information about their new locations.

          Darna Closes its Doors

It's official. The popular UWS restaurant Darna has closed it's doors permanently. Koshertopia has confirmed that Darna's last seating on Columbus Ave. was last week. Management cited negotiations over a lease renewal as the reason for the closure. They will still offer off site catering from their new commissary in the Bronx and a new facility in midtown.

            This is a tragedy.

I'm in complete agreement. I am hoping that midtown facility will see regular supportive patrons and that the establishment remains in NYC for decades to come. I hope we find out more about this soon.

I agree. It was my favorite place to go when visiting my son in the city. Argh!!!

Any updates? I just heard that they've closed their catering as well...?

They killed their website too, so I have no way to contact them.

I actually emailed them on May 2nd asking for details and the email bounced.
