Bridge Run Eats
Just got back from Cooper River Run, the volunteers and staff did a terrific job. Smoothly run, the wave start made everything much more pleasant.
Ate at Charleston's Cafe in Mt Pleasant after the race. Had a lobster quesidalla with chippers and their sweet potato biscuit. Large chunks of lobster with eggs and a spicy cream cheese spread. Great flavor combination. Even though it was crowded, and we had a group of 12, they were very accomondating and sat us fairly quickly. Good service.
Had brunch the next morning at Hominy, good as always. Stuffed french toast with country ham and pimento cheese. Again, crowded, but we were seated soon enough. My daughter lives down the block, so we go here often.
My only trouble was my legs were so sore I could barely get up from the chair!
Thanks for the review! I'll piggy back my own quick reviews.
EVO on Friday- good lord, the green pea salad (special) was about the best thing I ever ate. The peas were PERFECT, and the red onions and feta just made the salad complete. I think the red onions were soaked in lemon juice first. fantastic. Honestly , I was disappointed in the pistachio pesto pizza. It was just greasy. The crust was tasty but a little tough.
Fig on Saturday night (I wasn't up for chippers too soon after the run) was fantastic as usual, but gosh you can run up a bill there if you get too excited. The triggerfish crudo was awesome. I thought my strawberry dessert was a bit of a miss, though. A friend shared her buttermilk panna cotta...wish I'd gotten that.
Atlanticville - My first time there, cute place, fried oyster appetizer that was out of this world. Grilled mahi + green salad...fresh fish perfectly cooked and a nice salad. A little plain, maybe, but great quality and healthy. (to make up for the cheddar biscuits I snarfed)
I think the wave start was needed, but it does take away a little of the fun. Dodging around people always used to take my mind off the pain for the first mile or so. That wind was brutal,I was 3 minutes slower than last year and barely beat 50 minutes. But sunshine instead of rain is worth the trade off!
What time did you go to Charleston Cafe? I would have expected the wait to be astounding after the run.

Friday night we had dinner at the Acme Cantina on Isle opf the Palms, ok standard beach bar dinner, had the fried seasood platter that was good. My wife had the shrimp burrito that she liked. More of a fun bar place.
Saturday lunch we ate at Magnolias. Excellent lunch I had the crab bisque and the salmon BLT salad. A nice big chuck on grilled salmon, my wife had a Fried green tomato lump crab BLT that she loved.
