Vegetarian/Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurant within 30 minutes of Skokie
My pescatarian husband and my vegetarian self will be visiting Skokie and seek a nicer restaurant that is either vegetarian or has lots of veggie options. Happy to pay for a memorable meal. Good service and ambiance would be great--but we're coming for the food. The last requirement is that the restaurant be relatively close to where we're staying in Skokie. TIA!!

There are also a number of Kosher Dairy Restaurants in Skokie including EJ's Pizzaria, Slice of Life, and Malibu Pizza - of these Slice of Life is the nicest of the bunch - but the food is good at all of them -

re: noya
EJs is a new addition to the vegie scene in skokie (http://ejspizzeriaskokie.com/) - the food is good and a good spot for the kids - as nxtasy indicated the best high end option would be Green Zebra - I do like Blind Faith in Evanston as well as the Thai Restaurants nxtasy had recommended as well -

I'll start with a few options that are right in Skokie itself.
Skokie has three good Thai restaurants, all of which have some good vegetarian options on the menu:
Thai Pavilion - www.thaipavilionskokie.com
Ruby of Siam - www.rubyofsiam.com
Tub Tim Thai - www.tubtimthai.comThere are some good, interesting chain restaurants in Old Orchard Center that have veg options, including Maggiano's (Italian), California Pizza Kitchen, and Cheesecake Factory. I cannot recommend McCormick and Schmick, the seafood restaurant there, as it was dreadful the last time I went there.
There's an all-vegetarian restaurant in Evanston, the next town just east of Skokie. It's called Blind Faith Cafe. www.blindfaithcafe.com A couple of other good restaurants in Evanston that usually have some veg options are Lucky Platter (eclectic) www.luckyplatter.com and Campagnola (Italian) www.campagnolarestaurant.com Perhaps the best (and most expensive) restaurant in Evanston is Oceanique; it's mostly seafood but they always have a few vegetarian options as well. www.oceanique.com There's an Indian restaurant in downtown Evanston called Mount Everest and it's very good. www.mteverestrestaurant.com
If you want a really nice upscale vegetarian restaurant that you can drive to in about 25 minutes, Green Zebra is in the city of Chicago and it's usually all vegetarian (sometimes they have a single dish with chicken or fish, sometimes they don't have any). www.greenzebrachicago.com
