Cha Chan Tang in Chinatown

scoopG Apr 2, 2011 02:16 PM

Cha Chan Tang (茶餐廳) Cha Chan Tang, mentioned by nuni in February is stepping up to fill the void now that Kobma on Pell has closed (and turned into a Shanghai restaurant.)

Cha Chan Tang serves up a type of particular Hongkong Canto-Pop food (the Third Rail of the Chinese Cuisines?) and their menu is much more expansive than Kobma’s ever was.

If you have a breakfast craving for Ham and Macaroni in Soup with Buttered Bread ($3.75) or an Egg Sandwich with Spam ($3.25) this might be your place. Congee and noodles also available.

Over 26 sandwiches are offered: from Sliced Butter and Condensed Milk Toast ($2.25) to their Pork Chop Club Sandwich ($6.00).

Like Kobma, you can get your fill of 16 different items over five different kinds of noodles – including instant. There are also Fried Spaghetti items, plenty of Rice Dishes and even Baked Rice, Macaroni or Spaghetti. Of course they have French Fries, Borscht Soup, Onion Rings and Chicken Wings to go with your Curry Beef or Soy Sauce Fried Noodles. Full line of beverages are offered that include Salted Lemon 7-Up, Tapioca Teas, Motcha Agar and Smoothies.
