Rome restaurants for woman dining alone?
I will be in Rome for a week in may, first time there by myself. I don't mind dining alone, but usually prefer to read. Thoughts on places where I won't feel odd doing so? Obviously, dark cozy restaurants are out, and a shorter meal is better.
I will be staying near piazza navona but I feel comfortable walking around the city or to
I love good food, of course, but it doesn't have to be amazing, just delicious.
Grazie!

Hey dmeg, I dine out alone all the time and when i need a quick meal in a comfortable atmosphere, i go to a wine bar like Cavour 313, Cul de Sac, L'Angolo Divino (bad light for reading), Al Vino Al Vino, La Barrique. Bear in mind Cavour 313 and Cul de Sac have the most uncomfortable seats in the universe so you won't want to linger!
As the weather gets nicer, its fun to sit outside and eat. Roma Sparita, Taverna degli Amici, L'Asino d'Oro, and Settembrini Cafe are all good spots for a quick meal seated outdoors.
Couldnt add Caffe Settembrini link but it is located at via Settembrini 21, next to Settemrbini.

re: katieparla
Hey Katie, you might want to delete some bad links (function to add is not working today).
I also think most of the trattorie in central Rome that are recommended routinely here would also be fine for a single woman visitor.
