Bday Dinner By myself...

hackattaq Apr 1, 2011 10:15 PM

So I have Bday party with friends at 1030 at night and a baseball game to attend that starts at 4:10 so assuming its done by 7 I want to grab a decent dinner for my bday before I have drinks with friends. I want to go to a nice restaurant and get a reservation. It would be a friday night. Thinking 3 courses, seafood and willing to spend up to 60 bucks.

If $60 is for food only, before drinks, tax and tip:

    The Modern Bar Room

    The Modern

402 West 43rd Street, New York, NY 10036

    120 W 49th St, New York, NY 10020

92 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016

Does the 60 bucks include tax, tip, and beverages?

60 before tax, tip and drinks is fine. There is no fine line just want to grab a nice restaurant experience for dinner.

I would pick Oceana, with Millesime a close second.

I certainly agree about Oceana, a favorite of ours.

I thought the food at Millesime was excellent. But I wouldn't go near the place on a Friday night because they have live music in the bar/lounge, and it's so LOUD that it can clearly be heard in the dining room upstairs. But if hackattaq wouldn't mind that, Millesime would be a fine choice.

We did not have fish or seafood the one time we've been to the Bar Room at The Modern. However, everyhing we did have was superb.

I am not a fan of Esca.

How how about the Mermaid Inn? I've only been to the one on the Upper West Side-- it's reliably good and very reasonable.
