Fee Bros Barrel Aged Bitters in NYC?

Joe MacBu Mar 31, 2011 06:59 PM

The 2011 batch of the Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters has been released.
Anyone know where to get in New York City right now?

The Boston Shaker in Somerville, MA mailorders them. They had only about 15 bottles left from their allotment and that was last week, so you'd better order quickly if you want to get it from them. www.thebostonshaker.com

Do the flavors change from year to year?

Apparently so. I only have the 2010 bottling so I can't personally verify, but I'll trust Spirits Review's description: http://spiritsreview.com/reviews-bitt...

From our ingredient description for Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters:
"Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters are a brand of cocktail bitters made by Fee Brothers. They are vintage dated, and the recipe changes from year to year, though they are always finished in a used barrel that previously held whiskey.

The 2009 Whiskey barrel aged bitters has a strong cola note backed by warm baking spices. 2010 and 2011 are substantially less bitter than 2009, and quite similar to each other."

Kalustyan's carries a lot of Fee Bros bitters. Not sure if they have the 2011 though.
