NEW Three B's Bistro Lakehurst problem !!

I have been to this place an number of times since it opened and find the food good ,but not great .They seem to be content with ok main dishes with weak sides . The place is up scale ,nice crowd , with good service .but..The owner /manager is invisable to customers and is more interested in the paper work then to take care of customers' needs and requests . It is my understanding he has been in the resturant business before ,but he has never even said hello to me or my wife who have come to this place on a regular basis . I also tip well .. I have emailed them 3 times with my thoughts ,with no reply ..

The only reason we come back is It is really the only show in town in the Ocean county waste land of good eateries .
Has anyboby else had this type of problem and how did you reslove it ,without just stop freqenting the place

  1. Let's see the food is "good" which I read as "ok" and sides "weak" and after mulitple attemps to engage with the manager but in person and email with NO response; why are you still going there?
    Ocean County is one of the largest counties of NJ. There are other places, go to Toms River Bistro 44 gets rave reviews. I enjoy here in Manahawkin a great Mexican place, a decent dinner (awesome lamb shanks) and go to Forked River for sublime sushi (EVER go to Nobi in TR)

    I was to solve your issue, use your feet, and drive to great places in Ocean County.

      Bistro 44 just lost the chef and is closing .I live in( North )Toms River and it is a real wasteland for good eateries .Three B's does have a limited number of good menu items ,but this place could be a gold mine if they just paid attention to detail and went tne extra mile !

        Actually Bistro 44 is changing ownership but will be remaining open with the same kitchen and wait staff...

          See now, you gotta check your facts, just read the Bistro 44 thread on this board. The owner/chef as no been in the kitchen cooking for the past 7 months and has sold the place, which will remain open, with the same staff. (Chef Eric commented in the thread himself)

            Pan Asia, next to the applebee's on Rt 9.

        3. With due respect, you should accept or decline the restaurants on their merits or lack thereof. Unless you have intimate knowledge of the operations of this restaurant, e.g., abilities, training, purveyors and would you really know what they are capable of.

          When a customer hs a perception of a restaurant, other than what it actually is.....the customers has expectations that may never be met. You can request to have special items prepared on your future visits. See if the owner/manager will accommodate your wishes. Until then, may I suggest you say hello first to break the ice. Not everyone has good people skills.

            I finally did get a reply saying the because of the strong senior demographic many of the dishes must be make bland ,but they could jazz them up apon request ..I do not know if this makes sence
            .I was told by a chef many years ago that if you want a good resturant you need exceptional food and to achive this the side dishes have to as good or better then the main item .I do not know if this place is willing to go the extra mile. Time will tell

              Right around the corner a few blocks from Three B's is Luigi's Italian Restaurant and his food isn't bland at all & it's always crowded.

                Luigi's is horrible, lets not even talk about bland food!

                  Ive been there many times and enjoyed dinner every time and so did my friends.....
                  I guess the fact that it's always crowded doesn't mean anything? Also there are positive reviews on most websites also. But to each his own I guess.

                    I have gone to Luigi's many times and I have always been treated very well by Jenna .I will say Luigi's food has some great items and not so good stuff .Thier prices are reasonable and the portions are large . They will also alter a dish or make a dish if they have the ingrediants .The bar crowd is a little seedy ..

                    I'd have to agree with talldrink: Luigi;s is pretty bad. In this case being crowded is not an indication of a quality,restaurant.

            2. I have been here several times and love it! Food and service is great. The food is what is says, no sneaky substitutions. The owner Carlo is so nice. Cant wait for the cooking class tomorrow!

              1. We just ate there today, our 4th or 5th visit and our LAST. We had a $50 gift certificate from our daughter + son in law, the bill came to $40.63. We tried to use the change as a tip, but were told they can't do that, we have to take another gift certificate for $9.37 as our change. We spoke with "one of the managers" and she verified the policy, which she attributed to the owner. I mean, is this stupid or what? Our daughter paid $50 for the certificate, they already got the cash. We did inform the "manager" that we would not be back because of the policy, and we intentionally left our leftovers there, pointing out to her that we wanted no part of the place any more.I am purposely not commenting on the food at all, I don't think this moron deserves any stars at all.
