Santa Barbara Cake

I'm having my 50th birthday party up in Santa Barbara and am looking for a great bakery for just a simple white cake (like a really good wedding cake) with lemon curd filling. Besides Jeannine's does anybody have any recommendations?

The co-owner of JADE is a pastry chef- her name is Jeannine- she would be a good choice.

Bella Dolce Bakery- Eileen is a fantastic pastry chef.

30 minutes over the hill is Solvang- and Solvang Bakery cannot be beat for delicious cake...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Costco keeps getting surprisingly good reviews for their large cakes and there is one in Goleta if you wanted to order and pick up one there. Second Bella Dolce because anything associated with Jade has good parentage, though I believe she had to close down her new shop downtown.

We recently ordered one from Hennings Cake Boutique (new owners) and it was terrible, no flavor whatsoever and overloaded with heavy tasteless frosting. The sell a good story online with their choices of cakes, filling and frosting flavors and it looked rather opulent upon first glance for a standard bakery cake, but it was useless wasted calories.
