Went for a quick takeout for the first time yesterday, and had an outstanding chopped sandwich. Good size portion for $4 with tax. Sauce was on the side. No slaw, which is what I prefer. Didn't care for the sweet, ketchup based sauce, but the sandwich didn't need it, as any good bbq shouldn't. Meat was tender, with good flavor of smoke. It's on Old Buncombe, in a type of "shack". Not a ton of parking available, but what spaces were there were full. Will be going back.

Second, Slotmansc on this one. Mike and Jeff's is probably the best Bar-B-Q in Greenville and gives anything in Upstate SC a good run for its money. No disrespect to some of the more prominent Bar-B-Q joints in town (ahem, Henry's), but Mike and Jeff's cooks the right way, using charcoal, and the meat gets a good dose of smoke in the process.

IMHO it is, but I haven't been to Bucky's in a while. Good reason to eat some 'Q this week!

Thank you for the positive feedback! Just want to clarify we do use hickory and oak wood to cook with, from time to time we will use charcoal just to get the fire going good.

I went to Mike N Jeffs today and it was great. I will be going back soon. I really like the meat and the sauces.
