Since this request comes up frequently and those that need it shouldn't have anything else to worry about, I thought we should all pitch in and put the info in a central post.

I'll start with Mercatto in the MaRS building and Midi Bistro at McCaul & Elm.

      Very good thread. Adding...

Sage Cafe (home cooked - sandwiches, salads, etc. - lots of veggie options - on McCaul)
      Matagali (Indian/Thai - on Elm)
Crown Princess (dim sum - on Bay)
Queen and Beaver (gastropub - on Elm)
Baldwin Street restos - not sure what's good these days - Matahari Grill? Vegetarian Haven?

All within a 10 minute walk.

There is a Pizza place on the south side of Baldwin that appears to have been a Jewish Bakery at one time, it has good pizza.

John's Classic? It's been there for years but I've actually never been there,

Have never ordered the pizza, but the pasta I ordered at John's circa 2003 was not good ;-)

It was fine when I went in December or January. I think it was John's. We only ordered pizza and beer.

I particularly agree with Matagali - it's an oasis of calm - although service can be REALLY slow.

And if anyone is looking for places - particularly note the Google map near the top of the page - it shows the locations (some of which may be a bit further than anticipated).
