Kansas City Restraunts

I am in search of some ethnic food somewhere in KC. I have to do it for my anthropology class and am trying to find something good to do it over. Only requirements are that its not americanized. I do not eat meat and that is part of the problem I am having on finding a suitable restaurant. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There's an Indian restaurant off I-35 at 87th street, northwest corner, called Flavor of India that has a lot of vegetarian dishes. They also make dosa, which are accompanied by one of the better sambhar and coconut chutney in town. Crisp, shattering pancake with rich potato and lentil filling, tangy hot soup, and cool, creamy chutney. Who can ask for more? The service is good, and the prices are reasonable for the portions, of which we usually have leftovers to take home.

I haven't personally eaten there, but I hear Blue Nile Cafe (an Ethiopian restaurant down by the River Market) is very good. They have lots of vegetarian options as well - might be what you're looking for.

Blue Nile is an excellent choice.

Keeping it blue..Blue Koi would fit nicly too.

I was going to say El Camino Real until you said vegetarian.
