Didn't make it to Kostas until this am. Place was about as described. It was crowed (Holy Week) and very friendly. Got the London Broil I have been seeking. Forgot the strip of bacon that is on the outside. Also bought some souvlaki and sauce. Report in a week or 2.

London Boil was as wanted. I used too much heat and that will be rectified next time. Souvalki to come this weekend. I usually go to the Costco at Warden and Ellesmere every 3-4 weeks and will now put Kostas on the routine.

Kostas souvlaki was great. Cooked on a George Foreman grill and was nicely done. Price was right--less than similar offerings on Danforth although a little less chicken and pork it was fat and grissel free.
A great addition to my shopping and the parking is free and easy.

Isn't London Broil just marinated, grilled/broiled flank steak? Are you looking for the raw meat or already cooked and slice? If just the meat, any butcher and most grocery stores will carry flank steak. Galleria near York Mills/Don Mills always has flank steak, for example. And I'm sure you can get it at McEwan's for twice the price. :)

London Broil as sold by Kellens is/was flank steak surrounding ground spiced meat so that it resembled something like a big toonie about 1-2 inches thick. Ordinarily flank steak cooked quickly usually in a fry pan is also called London broil.

I'm looking for something like Kellens used to sell. Actually I have a memory of seeing it in McEwan's now that you mention it but if so it would probably seem like pricey flank steak.

Yeah, I had no idea -- I googled it after my post and apparently this is a version unique to Canada that I had never seen before. In which case, I'm sorry I can't be of any help. :)

Funny enough, but the Foodland Market at Pape/Danforth always has these in their meat section. Maybe will try one next time. Any tips on how to best prepare?
