Canele in Boulder/Denver?
Just watched a Chow video about perfect canele (the French pastry), and now I'm obsessed with trying them. Anyone know if there's a place that makes a decent version in or around Boulder or Denver? Also, any recommendations on recipes?

The Kitchen in Boulder has them! Who knew? I had one and it was small and very tasty. At first I thought it was kind of bland and chewy, but then it grew on me -- that caramel flavor really comes through. Very nice.

I had it at breakfast. Also noticed that The Tasterie Truck is offering them tomorrow (Thursday): http://www.facebook.com/TheTasterieTruck

If you do decide to make them for yourself, here are a couple of inspiring posts:

re: vanillagrrl
As far as recipes, I did a search in Home Cooking and there are a bunch of threads. The net result was to convince me that I'm not willing to invest the effort into making them (and I'm the kind of guy that spends a weekend making ramen broth). So I'm crossing my fingers that someone will find a place around here that will do it for me...
