I will be in DC in May and am looking for a restaurant with a great vibe, wine, and tuna burger and fries. Specific request, I know. I was looking at Central bt may not be able to get a reservation there so need other options as well. In Georgetown or walking distance from Mall area.

Thanks

Try PS7. I love their tuna sliders and they have a great bar and and a great vibe! They serve fries along with one of their main courses, so they should be able to do an order of fries. It is within walking distance of the nearest part of the mall if you are a good walker. Are you aware of how big the mall really is? Personally, I wouldn't want to walk from the furthest part of the mall to PS7, but that's just me. Check it out on the map first.

I don't know that many restaurants that have a tuna burger. PS7 has AMAZING tuna tartar sliders (both on their bar menu and regular menu). It's an appetizer. One of my favorite dishes in the city.

And West End Bistro (walking distance from Georgetown) has a fish burger. I haven't tried it but apparently it's Eric Ripert's famous recipe.

If you are alone or with just one other person, you might have luck at the bar at Central. There is usually space if you get there by about 6 or so.

Just as a note, even if you can't get a res, which this far out shouldn't be a problem, they do have a bar area that is nice and is pretty easy to get a seat at. Central I mean. Other than that and PS7 the only other great one I know of, which is really more of a sandwich is at Cafe Deluxe.

Only open for dinner, but you can get the tuna burger at the lounge at Citronelle in Georgetown. No reservations necessary, and they do have tables as well as a bar.
