Long weekend in Austin - what places to hit?
I am going to be in Austin for work but will be spending the weekend with a friend/co-worker to explore the city. I am from New England and love food & drinks. With the limited time we have, I am looking for recommendations for 3-4 places to eat at to really get a feel for the city. We'll be staying in the university area with no car but taking a cab isnt a problem. Also, not afraid to experiment!
One BBQ outing: either Franklin or Lambert's.
One Mexican outing: Fonda San Miguel or La Condesa; Polvo's if you want something super casual
One trailer outing: Odd Duck/Gourdough's (get there early; they sell out and the lines get long)
One adventurous meal: Foreign & Domestic
One cheap taco outing: Tacqueria Arandas on Burnet
