Looking for absolutely authentic family style Italian Restaurant

I am looking for an Italian Restaurant with no pretension. Ideally run by down home working class people who barely speak English. Food served family style with a killer home made Marinara sauce. The less fancy the better with straight forward classic dishes at low prices. Sort of like Filipe's in San Diego but with more visible Italian speaking owners. The kind of place where you can be a regular and get to know everyone. I guess the closest I've come is Half-Way house in Reno - but need one in LA metro please!

Family owned and run as it has been for decades. Mom's recipes and her fantastic eggplant parmagiana (only when the P's are best) and her cheesecake is incredible. Go!

Filipe's in San Diego has nothing to do with authentic Italian food. It's highly americanized Italian food. Nothing wrong with it but perhabs you are not really looking for an authentic Italian place.

Brunello Trattoria in Culver City. Probably a bit more upscale than what you're looking for, but they are Italian and it tastes like being in Italy. Killer homemade bread, great pizza. The real Italian kind.

Try Bruno's in Santa Monica. Not quite family-style, but definitely old school Italian by an old school Italian.
