Good Parmesan cheese (keeps a long time in the fridge)
Olives (various types)
Good pasta and
Good Olive Oil
Tuna in Olive Oil
Chick peas, tahini and lemon juice in case I want to whip up a batch of hommus
Some camembert or brie in the fridge
Staples like sugar, flour, butter, eggs, etc - just because you can make so many things with them - pasta, pastry, cookies, cakes, pancakes, crepes, roux...
This brings back very fond childhood memories, pinehurst! My folks ALWAYS had a big can of peach halves in the pantry to make my dad's signature broiled peaches if company dropped in. There's nothing fancy or highbrow about it, but it sure is delicious over ice cream!
