European Style Hot Chocolate

I'm going to be in Chicago next weekend. I am a huge fan of sipping chocolate - the kind you find in Paris or elsewhere in Europe that's basically a melted chocolate bar.

Where is the best place in Chicago for Sipping Chocolate?

On my last trip, I tried Vosges (good for chocolate, hot chocolate only okay) and Hot Chocolate (excellent, plus I loved the Cream of Asparagus soup).

I definitely want to try Xoco. Where else should I try?

The best hot chocolate I've had in Chicago is at the bar at the Four Seasons. It's their Valrhona chocolate. Yum!

Sorry but I find Xoco's hot chocolates way too sweet. I did try the Azteca, the classic and the Champurrado (thick)...none of which came close to European style hot chocolate...whether it be Spanish, French or Italian style.

We also have outposts of the Viennese coffee shop Julius Meinl, which serves a European drinking chocolate.

Not sure where else to try but the Aztec Hot Chocolate at Xoco is wonderful! Enjoy!
