las vegas restaurants listed on restaurant.com
My husband and I will be travelling to vegas at the beginning of April for 4 days. We have never been before and are looking into purchasing some restaurant gift certificates before we travel (this seems to be cheaper). At restaurant.com you can get a $25 GC for $2! Do any of you recommend any of the restaurants from that site?? We will be staying at the MGM grand so within walking distance would be good. We like all types of food except vegetarian.
You may want to reconsider the walking distance aspect. It could take you at least thirty minutes and, in most cases, at least fourty five minutes to walk from the MGM Grand to a restaurant at another hotel. You may want to consider buying a multi day bus pass (be sure to buy the Strip and Downtown pass and not the cheaper residential pass as the residential pass will cost you more in the long run. you can buy three day passes at vending machines at bus stops on the Strip).

TAXICAB FARES AND FEES:
Do be careful of cab drivers who try to "long haul" you.
BTW, one of the city's best steakhouse is located inside the MGM Grand... Craftsteak. If it were ME, I wouldn't leave the property, incur the added expense of transportation, to go to another steakhouse when a really really great one is on site.
Walking distance in Las Vegas is a nebulous concept. In my opinion, the only properties within walking distance of the MGM are NYNY, Excalibur, Monte Carlo and the Tropicana. There is a free people mover at the back of the Excalibur that goes to the Luxor and continues to Mandalay Bay. There's another free tram at the back of the Monte Carlo that connects to City Center and continues to Bellagio.
If you plan on being here for four days, I would consider renting a car for 2-3 days and hitting some of the better of Strip restaurants like Lotus of Siam, Raku, Rosemary's or Todd's Unique. That would open up your restaurant.com options and save you oodles on taxi fares. Both self parking and valet parking are free at all hotels.
Having a car would also free you to visit the scenic sites when you're not eating, like Red Rock Canyon or Hoover Dam.
Enjoy your visit.

On the Strip the restaurants participating are somewhat limited with the greatest concentration being at Mandalay Bay. Otto in the Venetian used to participate, but I haven't seen any offers from this Batali restaurant recently on the site.
At Mandaly Bay we have enjoyed Stip Steak, RM Seafood and Border Grill. I believe all are currently listed on Restaurant.com
