Saturday lunch on southern Connecticut coast?

Hi all,

We're doing a long road trip tomorrow (Saturday), and will be taking I-95 to 84 North. It looks like we'll hit southern Connecticut (anywhere between Stamford and New Haven) somewhere around lunchtime.

It'd be really nice to break up a long trip with a great meal-- does anyone have any suggestions for anything a bit upscale along that corridor, or even further up if we push on?

You'll be picking up I-91 in New Haven. If you can last that far, why not lunch at Zinc or Ibiza? If not, how about Darbar India in Branford?

Lenny's might have good seafood but upscale ? Gris is our of the way and food is not outstanding. I vote for http://www.bespokenewhaven.com/

BTW, Lenny's in Branford and The Gris in Essex are past I-91 in New Haven.

Yeah but Lenny's isn't _that_ much farther up...even if II were gonna go up and onto the Mass Pike I think I'd do it but that's just b/c I don't get there all the time

yeah - but you can shoot back up to 91 via rt 9
Gris is fun
but my vote might go elsewhere depending on the thru time

I live in New Orleans but get up there from time to time. I always like Lenny's in Branford or push on to the Griswold Inn in Essex but that is a tip of the hat to my childhood. Besides, I love the nautical stuff.
