Where can I buy Kirsch in Maine?

Cassoulet Mar 24, 2011 09:03 PM

I've been looking for Kirsch (aka Kirschwasser), but they don't have it at either of the local supermarkets. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping to find it in the midcoast area, but I'm willing to travel a bit to get some.
Black Forest Cake just isn't the same with substitutes.

Have you looked at Morse's Sauerkraut in Waldoboro?

Supermarkets are very unlikely to carry this- you'll need to go to an actual liquor store to find it.
Do they call them "package stores" up there, as they're known in Massachusetts?

Maine no longer has Liquor Stores. Liquor is sold in grocery stores.

I'd suggest calling RSVP Discount Beverage in Portland -- (207) 773-8808

Was just going to write that it's all over NH state liquor stores, but that's a hike for you. Had no idea about the liquor in supermarkets thing in ME. I gotta get out more.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll check out Morse's since it's nearby (and always fun to visit), and if they don't have it I'll contact RSVP Discount Beverage (and thanks for including the number!).

Bootlegger's in Topsham probably has it.
