Irvine: Where to buy 00 flour

Hi, I have an Italian friend who's living in Irvine and is looking for 00 flour (a very finely ground and soft Italian flour). Here in New York it's sold at several Italian specialty stores, but I don't have a clue as to where to tell her to look in Irvine.

I'm hoping that the local CH gang will be able to help! Thanks.

Since this old thread got revived, I'll add here that I picked up 00 flour at Cortina's Italian Market in Anaheim. Sometimes, Claro's has. Other times, not.

Claro's has 00 flour, but call in advance since they sell out quickly.

Claro's Italian Deli in tustin might carry it.

          Hi Elaine,

I'm on a similar quest for specialty flour. In my case, it's high gluten. If I spy 00 locally, I'll let you know (I'm in Irvine, too).

Depending on the quantity, you might suggest the mail order at King Arthur Flour's website. They can ship from Vermont, but it'll get spendy if she wants a lot (figure minimimum, $1 a pound for ground shipment).
