Looking for maple sugar

Does anyone know where I can buy reasonably priced maple sugar? St Lawrence Market is selling for $65/kilo.

  1. I don't know where to buy it but I would like to know what you consider a reasonable price for maple sugar to be.

    1. I think that is actually a reasonable price. I've purchased it via mail order in the past and paid over $35 for half a kg.

here is a place that sells it at roughly the St Lawrence Market price:

Mine came from Quebec but pretty much the same price. I can't imagine it can be found at a lower price unless you're buying in very large quantities.

      2. I spent some time before Christmas looking for maple sugar. When I was at craft show in early December at the Exhibition I saw maple sugar and syrup sold by Voisin's Maple Products Ltd., from Formosa, Ont. Their telephone no. 519 392 8126. They were selling 350gr. containers of maple sugar. Sorry to say I can't remember the price but it was nowhere near $65.00. It might have been around $25.00. All I remember is once I found maple sugar we made best tasting shortbread. I don't think I'll ever make shortbread with anything else.

$65 a kilo is $22.75 for 350 grams, so the $65/kilo price is still better.
