Mother's Day Brunch

I know, I know.... don't do it. And I've agreed in the past. But Mom's coming to town and will be VERY disappointed if we don't eat brunch out. Any advice from past positive experience? 4 adults. Planning early. Thanks Chows!

Did Mother's Day brunch at Hammersly's - it was a joke. Ordered a Lobster salad - looked like 1/4 lb dropped on the plate from the counter at Whole Foods. Won't be doing that again.

I hate it when restaurants do a "special menu" for Mother's Day or other holiday, the food is always inferior and it feels like a rip-off. Mistral is definitely a gerat choice.

We have done Mother's Day at Harvest and it was very good. There was enough familiar food for older mothers. Another thought is Henrietta's Table.

Ended up changing our rez. Harvest has Prix Fixe, and it felt too limited for $60 pp. And mom generally doesn't eat 3 courses. We decided on Mistral which I'm really looking forward to. Regular menu, lots of options. Will report back.

Confirmed with Oleana that they are NOT doing mother's day brunch this year. Made a rez at Harvest...

          Suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks for the reminder. I just booked Mistral on opentable. For a party of 5, I was offered a table at 10:30 or 1:30.

You might try giving Oleana a call. They've had a spec'l MD brunch in the past: http://www.oleanarestaurant.com/

Please let us know about Oleana! We forgot to make reservations last year, and ate at VeeVee in JP - it was actually perfect, and the food was delicious. I'm guessing that it's close to you based on your screen name...
