Applebee's restaurant recipe for southern barbecue sauce chicken wings

Can anyone give me an approximation of Applebee's, (Jupiter, Fl) recipe for barbecue chicken wings, southern style? Even the manager didn't know. They were really good. I know they had vinegar, and there had to be tomato sauce of some type

    1. southern with a vinegar/tomato base sounds like north carolina sauce....

      1. snark aside, you should post this under chains rather than Fl- I doubt the sauce is unique to the one Applebees you go to.

        1. From www.recipegoldmine.com:

          Applebee's Barbecue Sauce

          1/3 cup bottled apple butter
          1/3 cup Catalina dressing
          1/3 cup catsup
          2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Combine all ingredients. This will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks or may be frozen. The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.

          1. Maybe this one?

            1/3 c Hunt's ketchup
            1/3 c Apple butter
1/3 c Kraft Tangy Bacon Dressing
            1/3 c Apple juice

            2 tb Worcestershire
            2 ts Louisiana Hot Sauce
            1 tb Mustard
            1 ts Lime juice
            1 ts Liquid hickory smoke

            1/2 ts Celery seed
            1/2 ts Oregano
            1/2 ts Black pepper
            1/4 ts Garlic powder
1/4 ts 180 Degree seasoning; (or your favorite rub)
            1/4 ts Chicken seasoning

You can make this in a container in the microwave.
