Clearwater / Tampa (Spring Training)
The wife and I are headed down to Clearwater for spring training. It's our first time in the area. Have read this board and am quite familiar with some of the recos: Frenchys (grouper); Lennys (breakfast); etc.
Have also read many of the recos on Tampa/Ybor city re the likes of Columbia and Teresitas and La Ideal for their Cubanos - so while I am not opposed to traveling down to Tampa / Ybor I was interested in knowing opinions about the Columbia located at Clearwater Beach and Ceviche right in Clearwater.
Also - any place for a good cubano more centrally located to clearwater (if you tell me that going to Tampa is the best - that's fine)
Finally good Italian and fresh fish recommendation in the Clearwater area - any Greek recos
Thanks for any help you can provide

just ate at the Clearwater Cerviche last evening. was very good. $4 tapas Tuesdays a good bargain. for Italian I've heard good things about Al and Stella's at the beach. Never been there. Or Casanova on Cleveland. new. former owner of Bellini's in Dunedin of which I was a fan. I go to Casa Ludovico in Palm Harbor.
Forlini's for Italian on Clw Beach is wonderful, little pricey but worth it. A must is Heilman's Beachcomber for their fried chicken, they also have fish, and etc. Bobby's bistro is right behind Beachcomber on the beach, has great atmosphere and good fish specials. Been to Al n Stellas, not so good food was very bland. Haven't been to the Columbia in a while, great view on the water and the food was always very good. Cerviche is good and great live salsa music on the weekends. Backwaters on Sand Key, just over the bridge on the south end of the beach has good fish specials, it is actually located in the same plaza as the Columbia. Taste of Cuba is on East Bay Dr., great Cuban sandwiches, the real deal. Have a great trip, weather is fantantic here.
Best Greek in Pinellas county is at the Greektown Grille in Clearwater: http://www.greektown-grille.com/. I also like Mykonos in Tarpon Springs, but the last few times the grilled octopus has been burnt. Greektown Grille has the closest to authentic Greek food I've found in Florida. If you like sushi, Kiko's on Clearwater Beach is amazing. If you don't mind traveling a bit, Middle Grounds Grill in Treasure Island has the freshest, most interestingly prepared seafood in Tampa Bay and Aguve has the best Mexican (St. Pete Beach) That being said, Ceviche in Clearwater is delicious and a good bargain on Tuesdays. (Nice suggestion, Annemarie07). Enjoy your trip!
