Breakfast in Berlin (CT)?
We were driving on Farmington Ave. through Berlin, CT the other day and noticed a number of small diner/mom 'n pop type restaurants along the way. We're always looking to try different places that have great breakfasts. We've gone to places in other area towns (e.g. Southington, Plainville, Bristol), but have never given Berlin a try (other than the late, great Steve's many years ago). Are there any great breakfast places in Berlin these days? Thanks.

If you liked Even Stephen's, did you try the restaurant that's in the same diner? As much as I loved Even Stephen's - and we had him cater several occasions for family functions - was excited to see someone reopen his restaurant. We've eaten at the restaurant under the new owners a number of times. It's very good. The breakfasts are huge and well priced, in my opinion. The lunches are also delicious, and for awhile he was opening on Friday nights offering dinner. A husband and wife own/run it, so it's still a small family run business - which are my favorite places to go. If you go, try the Cuban bread with your meal. Awesomeness!

We had breakfast this morning at Josie's Corner and enjoyed it very much. We had hash and eggs. The hash was good (not fully homemade, but nicely embellished in the kitchen). The homefries were flavorful and crispy/crunchy the way I like it, although next time we probably won't spend the extra money to get the sauteed onions on them. As Hotwing said, their home made bread was excellent. Next, we will try the restaurant in the former Even Steven (now I remember that name) location. Thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

re: FarFar
We went to Kensington Cafe for breakfast yesterday morning. Hubby & I ordered the Cafe omelet (quite yummy). Daughter had breakfast sandwich, her boyfriend had french toast. We were all full & satisfied when we left. Only complaint was that we were not interested in lingering and had to wait longer than we'd like to get our check. Other than that, delicious.

I think Josie's Corner on Mill St. has a great breakfast. The place can get a little loud since the dining room is wide open. I think it's the go to place for people living in the area. If you go, make sure you try their home made bread. It's very god.
