You might not get many responses because most people on here don't realize that Brooklyn exists past Park Slope. Also, most of the restaurants in that area are probably the dreaded "red sauce" or "American Italian" type restaurants which would cause most foodies to spontaneously combust if they entered one.
That being said, Gargiulo's in Coney Island is a classic. I've also been told that the restaurant @ Spumoni Gardens is excellent but expect a wait.

Thank you for your feedback. I have also heard good things about Gargiulo's

I spent the first 25 years of my life in this area. I have not been to Gargulios in many years. And I am sure they are still good.Marias on Emmons Ave. is also very good. As for the L&B Restaraunt I do not like it at all, the pizza is another story the square is one of the best in the world IMO. There are not many Italian Restaraunts left in that area. There are a few I have not tried. Il Fornetto on Emmons Ave. I am thinking, Go to Mill Basin and go to LaVilla it is wirth a 10 minute drive.

Gargiulo's has been through some ups and downs, but its sui generis though I've not been there in years. I'd venture a risk. Heard interesting things about Michaels of Brooklyn, an exuberant place at 29th and Nostrand. There's always the excellent Il Colosseo in Bensonhurst (77th and 18th Ave) and Tomasso's in Dyker Heights (86th St). L+B for slices and spumoni only; Sicilian trattoria Joes of Ave U and nearby Fiorentina's (Ave U and Mcdonald) also possibles.
