Tube Pan or Bundt Pan

I'm thinking of making an angel food cake this weekend, but I realize I don't have a tube pan. Is it really necessary or could I use a bundt pan? I have one of those, and I'd really prefer not to have to buy another cake pan if I don't need to. Thanks.

  1. Hi Susan,

You could bake your cake in a loaf pan. A regular recipe for 10-inch tube pan will probably make two loaves.

I wouldn't use a bundt for angel food as most of them are non-stick. Angel food needs an ungreased non-stick pan so the batter can climb up the sides.

It might also be heck getting it out...

    1. Do you have jelly roll pan or half sheet pan?

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a jelly roll pan, but I do have loaf pans - that's an idea I hadn't thought of.
